BlackBerry Quick Tip

One annoying little issue with OS updates is the application icons your service provider pushes to your device. These usually are not actual applications but simply launchers to download said application. Unlike normal programs these icons can not be deleted the way you would normally delete un wanted apps. One solution is to create a new folder, move the un wanted icons into it and then hide the folder. Out of site out of mine, your other option is to delete the service books associated with each of these applications. To use this method go to options> advanced options> service book, highlight the app you want to get rid of, hit your menu key and select delete.
(Note: deleted apps will re appear after each reboot requiring you to repeat the process.)

As a theme designer I always hate these wasted icons. Didn’t even think about deleting the service books for these. Great tip.
