Some of you probably have been using this new Twitter client for a few days, but I had to showcase Seesmic.
For those of us that have been using Seesmic are used to seeing the cute little raccoon on our home screen that lets us know there is an update, but for some it may seem a little strange. Keep in mind that Seesmic is still in “alpha testing” but they have released it to all of us to get a little taste of whats to come.
Of course there are some improvements that could be made in my opinion. For example a different color in the time line to represent @replies and @DM messages. Theses are however listed in the menu screen, it would be nice to see them in the main time line. Also I would like to see a Friends/Followers in the menu that way people can be added or taken away with ease.
For the most part Seesmic Inc. has hit the nail right on the head with this one. I have been using Seesmic since it’s availability date and I am hooked. It is very clean and easy to use. While sending a new Tweet it allows you to shrink your tweet as well as add pictures from whichever service you choose during setup. Another great feature is that as you get closer to the dreaded 140 character limit the text window starts to change different shades of red. The redder the text window the closer you are. If you go over the allotted amount then it turns a very deep crimson color.
The look and feel of this Twitter client are great. It’s functionality is almost perfect. If Seesmic Inc. makes the right changes to this Twitter client I can see it becoming used more than Ubertwitter. If you are interested in giving this application a try just point you mobile browser HERE or your PC browser HERE. Give it a try I am sure that you won’t be disappointed.

The ability to download podcasts over the air was an extremely requested feature by many BlackBerry users for some time. Over the last year or so several 3rd party apps have been released that accomplished this task. One of these applications is conveniently named Podcasts. Podcasts is by the most user friendly Podcast player available for the BlackBerry to date and in my opinion, has the cleanest interface as well.

Getting started with Podcasts is a breeze, all that is needed is the url of the podcast feed you’d like to download. After adding a podcast you’ll be presented with a list of available episodes. Clicking on an episode will begin the download. Once an episode is downloaded it is marked with a green check and is ready to be listened to. All downloads can be saved to an SD card and played via the BlackBerry’s native media application.
Podcasts is available through BlackBerry App World for $2.99 with a free trial being offered that allows access to Pinstack.com’s podcast.

Have you ever put your BlackBerry down at the airport or the grocery store and forgot to pick it up? Or maybe you had that big party on the weekend while your parents were out of town and now you cant find your phone. eGPS is the solution for you.
I know from first hand experience that sinking feeling you get when you can’t find your BlackBerry. All the thoughts that run through your head at a million miles per hour. Who’s in my contact list? Whats on my memory card? Is there anything private that I don’t need the world to find out.
I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a free copy of eGPS compliments of BBHybrids. As soon as I got the email with the link I was installing as fast as I could.
eGPS is host to a number of very convenient safety features. All of which can be activated via SMS or by email. eGPS will allow you to back up contacts, send an audible alert so you can find it even if your phone is set to silent or on vibrate. You can even wipe your phone or memory card all remotely. Now I have not tried all the functions of this because the wipe function will WIPE your phone completely. If recovered you will need to re install the OS and start from scratch. I didn’t really want to test this function but if it works as well as the other functions then this program is flawless.
Keep in mind that you have to have your GPS unblocked in order for this to function properly, so Verizon customers keep this in mind. Once eGPS is installed on your phone you will need to set it up. How hard is this? they have made it so easy my seven year old could do it. all you have to do is assign a pin number and an email address and them turn it on. Once the set up is all done you are ready to go. Simply email or SMS th command that you want to execute to the device and eGPS works it’s magic.
I think the Best part of this besides it’s functionality of course is the price. Most applications that claim to be able to do all this ding your pocket book on a monthly or yearly basis, and it always seems to be twenty bucks or better for this type of security. eGPS can be found in the mobihand store for the one time cost of just $4.99. If your like me and would rather avoid paying for applications. DO NOT avoid paying for this one. This could possibly be the best five dollar investment you make. Especially for all the people who actually use their Berries for Business. There is no monthly fee involved. Check out a video of eGPS in action HERE
So if you are like me and would like to have the security of knowing that if your phone ever goes missing and you cannot find it, your contact list can be saved and all personal info can be wiped rendering the device useless untill revived. Head to the store on the left side of our page and get you copy today. Enjoy your Blackberry more knowing that it is safe.

This is a great app for all you world travelers. This app allows You to translate text you enter on the screen. You can send a text as SMS or email message in the language you desire. Also translate SMS messages you receive. You can translate incoming email, as well as email messages you send.
The machine translation capabilities into the operating system seamlessly by adding a Translate option to the menus. There is no need to learn any new language. whenever you need to translate something, just pull up the option from your main menu.
Grab your copy via BlackBerry App world
The name may fool you a little bit, but this is an all in one alert program which will cover emails, SMS, and even missed calls. Aerize has brought us many really good apps thus far and hasn’t failed with this one either. Aerize Email alerts is a must have application..
Aerize will give you a seven day trial if you go to their site and install via the PC. This confused me for some reason when I installed this app, not too sure what I was thinking. but it is really easy. It installs just the same as any other app. Once installed you can easily set up the way you want to view your alert The pure beauty of this app is it allows you to handle the message as you wish. If it is junk then just delete. If the person sending is in your contact list then their picture will show up also.
Aerize runs all the time so it doesn’t matter what you are doing, if you receive an email, sms, then it will pop up. simply hit OK and the message will disappear.
You can find Aerize alerts in the app store HERE or you can go to their web site directly HERE Â for the zip file and free trail. Keep in mind if you wanna try before you by this is definately the way to go. Priced at $4.99 this app is a steal. If you have used Empowers SMS viewer I guarantee you will enjoy this one.

Shake & Spell, innovation or just pure genius? This game brought to us from SocialDeck is a Boggle type game where you have to find words after the letter tiles have been shaken up. You can play by yourself or online with others. I posed the question Innovation or Genius for one simple reason. This game Is cross platform compatible if you will. Shake & Spell can be played on your Berry, FaceBook, Twitter and wait for it…your Iphone or Itouch. The genius behind this is you can play with other people regardless of what device you or your friends are running.
The game play is simple, simply chose words from the tiles and build up points. You and your opponent take turns during each round choosing your words. The game options are set up into how many rounds and how much time each round lasts. You can play in multiple games at a time because when it is your turn Shake & Spell lets you know. It is played at your leisure, meaning that if you have to tuck that phone away while at work so you don’t get into trouble then not a problem. Simply open the app and click on “My Games’ and choose the game you wish to continue. You can challenge other people and also search fro friends from your list. There is a daily challenge which you can compete in every 24 hours. It tracks your score and position in comparison to others to have taken the challenge. Shake & Spell also includes a chat feature and the option to upload a picture to your profile.
Shake & Spell is a innovative design that works well on all the BlackBerrys’ that I tested it on. The set up is very simple. Just install sign up and log in. I hope to see more games from SocialDeck that will incorporate the same features and super fun game play across all devices regardless of what you are using. So I ask again simple innovation or pure genius? Whether This is an attempt to make huge amounts of money or just a way to unify BlackBerry and Iphone users I hope that SocialDeck can keep it up. Which ever you decide grab your FREE copy HERE and give it a go.

So yesterday I was checking out twitter and came across a tweet regarding a theme called Orbital. I had to give it a go so I pointed my browser to the DL link and away i went.
This theme is absolutely beautiful and the UI is flawless. It is available in four different colors with and without a weather slot for your favorite weather app.
It is a hidden today style but your calendar will only show if it is in one of the five spots on the bottom.
The home screen has a crescent shape on the bottom of the screen which is host to five of your favorite icons. touch the crescent and five more icons rotate into view. This gives you ten completely customizable icon slots plus like I mentioned before a slot dedicated to your favorite weather app. Also included the theme hosts 3 hot spots on the top of the home screen. Touch the battery and your options menu appears. click on the time and of course the clock will appear. Service bars hosts the manage connections screen. the Icons are beautifully done and are animated when highlighted. My favorite part of this theme is that there is a pop up whenever you receive an email or sms text message that allows you to go directly to the message in question.
Orbital is available on all devices just make sure you click the right one. This theme sells for 6 bucks in your favorite Mobihand store. Like the one in our sidebar…just search Orbital theme. AHazdesigns has been kind enough to offer all our readers a discount. just enter “ORB” without quotations in the coupon code box. You will like the discount “wink”. If you like what you see head on over and pick it up. Definitely a must have for those who have difficulty finding a theme that is open enough to show your pictures and still have you favorite icons right at your finger tips.

Ever brought that project home to work on over the weekend and then go back to work Monday morning and forget your laptop? Or perhaps you want to cut overhead and bring your business to your customers. Now thanks to Soonr you can.
Soonr which has been enjoyed by IPhone users for some time now has finally made its way to our beloved BlackBerry. For those of you that are not familiar with Soonr I will break it down. Soonr allows users to backup files to their “cloud” and access that information on their Berry or perhaps another PC at the office. Soonr has three user levels to meet all your possible needs, the start at the “lite” version and go to “pro”. The lite version is free and offers just enough for a lite user. The pro version is about twenty bucks a month but offers a plethora of options from 1 to 5 users to custom branding. There is also an option to add your efax account and fax from where ever you need to.
Soonr is compatible with sixteen different file types so all users regardless of what format you use. From word pad to excel to adobe have some coverage.
Â
Soonr will let you up load any files to your secure cloud for your teams use or just your own. You can add all types of media to your projects before uploading to Soonr.  As long as you stay within your allotted GB storage you can really upload any files from your PC and have access to them from your Berry.
Soonr will be a huge benefit to those who have a team working on a project and cannot be all in the same office at the same time or just happen to be in different countries. This will be an App that we at theBlackBerryfactory will use on a daily basis. It will also allow you to start creating a project during your morning commute then upload to your cloud and continue when you get into the office. now I know all our best ideas come to us in the shower but I don’t suggest using it there. It is rumored that a berry will only last 2 min in the water. You can however use it just about anywhere else.
I would recommend Soonr to anyone who needs to be able to access documents and files from anywhere or if you are looking to reduce overhead and bring business to your customer and not have to lug around your laptop to do it. Soonr is easy to use easy to set up, even on multiple devices. Its simplicity makes it a great business tool and the fact that you only have to pay for what you need makes this a great buy. Sooner definitely will remain in my top ten apps that I use on a daily basis. If you would like to give this a try get it here for you PC and sign up then head over to BlackBerry APP World and search “SOONR” then download and enjoy.I hope you enjoy Soonr as much as I have.

So I was looking through all the forums on Friday night and a came across a thread which read Snaptu app. for Storm. Thinking that this was another capture and post program I decided to delve a little deeper and check it out. Turns out I was completely wrong in my assumption about this application.
Snaptu brought to us by Moblica as it turns out is really just a “touch” interface for your Storm. I put touch in quotations because there is no click just a simple touch to make your selection. I found this to be a bit aggravating while getting used to it but once accustomed it is quite a nice change from the mandatory click. Moblica seems to be on the ball with updates. I downloaded and installed it on Friday and on Monday morning there was another update.
Storm users will be able to free up a ton of application space by installing this application. It is host to 40 applications and web based shortcuts all in one easy install. Some examples that are included are as follows. There is a RSS reader with a lot of channels pre-installed and the ability to add by URL. There is a FaceBook app that has limited functionality but runs well and gives users the basics of FaceBook. A fully functional Twitter app is also included and easy to use.
